Apply for a secondary school place

September 2022 transfer

If your child will be Year 6 at primary school in September, you can apply for a secondary school place for entry in September 2022 from 1 September 2021.

Your application must be received by 31 October 2021.

Before applying:

If you wish to register your child for the Year 6 Admissions Test, visit the Year 6 test page for more information. The closing date for test registration is 22 August 2021.

Alternatively you can download and send a paper application form. Some schools will require you to submit a supplementary application form.

September 2021 transfer

Children currently in Year 6 will be transferring to secondary school in September 2021.

If you applied online you will have been emailed the outcome of your application on the evening of 1 March 2021 from the London eAdmissions Team. You will also have been sent a follow-up notification email from Wandsworth Council if it has not been possible to offer your first preference school. This will provide detailed information about the outcome of your application and what to do next.

If you applied on a paper form and provided an email address you will have been emailed the outcome of your application on the evening of 1 March 2021. Otherwise, you will have been sent a notification outcome letter by first class mail on Monday 1 March 2021.

The closing date for applications (31 October 2020) has now passed.  If your child is in year 6 at primary school and you have not already made an application you should do so now. 

Waiting list

If your application is unsuccessful you can check your position on the secondary school waiting list.

Independent schools

Independent schools are privately funded schools that normally require the payment of fees to attend. There are a variety of independent schools in Wandsworth or within easy reach of the borough.
