St Michael’s Primary School Street

A School Street was introduced in November 2023 on Viewfield Road between Granville Road and Seymour Road.

Operating hours

Monday to Friday from 8 to 9am and 2.30 to 3.30pm, term time only.

During the operating times people walking, scooting, using wheelchairs, mobility scooters and cycles (including adapted cycles) will be able to enter the School Street.

Motor vehicles are prohibited during the operating times, subject to a limited number of exemptions.

How it works

  • Signs notify drivers of the School Street operating times
  • Retractable barriers are currently being used to reinforce the School Street restrictions

The School Street serving Smallwood Primary School was introduced using an experimental traffic order following consultation and engagement in February 2023.
