Campaigns - Draft
We run campaigns to help make Wandsworth the best it can be.
We're a listening council, committed to ensuring everyone can access all the borough has to offer while maintaining the lowest Council Tax in the country – something we're able to continue thanks to our sound financial management.

Wandsworth: A listening council
We’ve launched new resident guarantees based on what you told us matters most: cleaner streets, faster responses, and low Council Tax.
Our 7 rings, 7 days pledge means we answer calls quickly. Urgent issues like graffiti, potholes and broken signs are fixed fast. Our guarantee includes two free bulky waste collections a year and expanded Mega Skip Days.
Welcome to Wandsworth: London Borough of Culture 2025
This is our year as the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture 2025. Every corner of Wandsworth is coming alive in an explosion of creativity.
Our programme is crafted with, by, and for our residents. From food and music festivals to theatrical performances, Welcome to Wandsworth celebrates who we are and shows how culture can bring us together.
Access for All
Access for All is Britain’s best concession scheme, offering 50% to 100% discounts on services like gym sessions, swimming, weddings, and cultural events.
Over 80,000 bookings have already been made, and the scheme now includes even more offers, from free birth certificates to £3 event tickets.
Cleaner Borough Plan
We’re making Wandsworth cleaner and faster. Our plan is transforming our streets with better services, new investment, and more support for residents.
We’ve collected over 6,500 tonnes of extra recycling and introduced two free bulky waste collections per household. Mega Skip Days have expanded and we’re investing £1.3 million in cleanliness improvements.
Wandsworth Moves Together
We’re on a mission to become London’s most active borough. We’re investing in parks, play areas, lidos, and leisure centres to make staying active easier and more accessible.
Initiatives includes free swimming for children on free school meals, expanded Access for All discounts, and support for underrepresented groups.
Year of Play
We’ve launched a £4 million Play Strategy to expand, modernise, and make play more inclusive, indoors and out.
This includes free soft play sessions, supervised teen play and more Family Hubs. We've also invested in safer, better-equipped playgrounds. The campaign reflects our commitment to child development, wellbeing, and creativity.
Climate change
We want to be inner London's greenest borough. By tackling climate change we aim to improve resident's lives and preserve our borough for generations.
We're working towards carbon neutrality by 2030 and net zero by 2043, with £4.5 million invested in decarbonising buildings and ongoing efforts in tree planting, sustainable travel, and improving air quality.
Cost of Living
We offers London’s most generous support, from one-to-one help at local advice events to practical tools on our digital hub.
Residents can get tailored help on money, housing, and benefits from trusted partners like Citizens Advice and Wandsworth Foodbank.
Homes for Wandsworth
Our programme is delivering 1,000 high-quality new council homes.
Each development supports community life with new green spaces, play areas and facilities. Homes are allocated through a Local Lettings Plan to help families stay rooted in their neighbourhoods.
Decade of renewal
Our long-term plan is focused on improving our neighbourhoods, streets, and overall quality of life for residents.
Alton Renewal Plan
The Alton Renewal Plan is a major investment in Roehampton. Based on local feedback, it focuses on delivering high-quality new council homes, safer streets, better transport links, and improved estate and community facilities.
Current projects include the new Roehampton Family Hub, a community safety hub, and new council homes on Fontley Way and Putney Vale.
Biggest ever investment in our roads
We’ve launched a 10-year plan to fix Wandsworth’s roads and pavements after years of underinvestment.
We’re doubling the funding for repairs paid for by property developers, to make walking, cycling, and driving safer in every neighbourhood. Work is already underway to tackle worn-out surfaces across the borough, including areas like Old York Road and Tooting.
