Description

We’re looking at building new council rent homes on the northern part of the Lennox Estate. This will mean:

  • New homes will be for council rent and existing residents of Lennox Estate in housing need or looking to downsize will be given priority for allocation of the new homes
  • No net loss of open space
  • Increase in play space and improvements to existing play areas
  • Introduction of controlled parking in order to prevent non-estate residents from parking on the estate. Free permits to be provided for existing estate residents
  • Improved pedestrian access onto Upper Richmond Road
  • No loss of community or education facilities

We held our second engagement event on Tuesday 20 February 2024 at Paddock Upper School, Priory Lane, SW15 5RT.  

At this event we presented an update on our early proposals for development of new homes on the Lennox Estate. We have focused on the northern part of the estate, as development in this area will not require the demolition of any existing homes, and could also help improve:

  • The usable open space and public realm
  • Play facilities for the estate
  • How vehicles move around the estate and where they can park
  • Pedestrian routes across the estate and connections to Upper Richmond Road

We would like to thank those residents who attended the recent engagement event and provided the design team with feedback. We will continue to take resident feedback and comments on the current proposals until Tuesday 5 March 2024. After this date, we will provide further updates to residents. We aim to consider all of the feedback received, with a view to further refining our development proposals and engaging with residents again later this year. 

We’ve also produced some frequently asked questions which respond to many of the questions we have been asked by residents so far. We will regularly update this document as proposals take shape and further resident drop-in events are arranged.

Engagement events

We have now held two public engagement events, the first in June 2023 and the second in February 2024. Both events were well attended and helped gather significant comments and feedback from local residents.

We are very grateful for the feedback received at both events and the team is currently in the process of collating comments from the February event to put back out to the public in a revised FAQ document.
