The Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP) outlines the preferred surface water management strategy for Wandsworth and includes consideration of flooding from sewers, drains, groundwater and runoff from land, small watercourses and ditches that occur as a result of heavy rainfall.
An update to the SWMP created in 2011 was completed in December 2021. This incorporates updated surface water and flood zone mapping from the Environment Agency. The update also incorporates information on local flood records, and aligns with national, regional and local recommendations for flood risk management.
