Trees and Development Supplementary Planning Document

The Trees and Development Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) provides clear guidance for developers to assist them in managing and protecting trees during development. It aims to maximise the delivery and protection of trees during the planning process to improve biodiversity and enhance the borough’s natural and built environment for the benefit of local residents. 

The SPD supports our Tree Policy and accompanying Tree and Woodland Delivery Framework alongside supporting the tree management and landscaping policies set out in the Wandsworth Local Plan (July 2023).

SPD consultation

The SPD was made available for public consultation for a period of four weeks from 2 September to 30 September 2025. We sought feedback to ensure the SPD is as effective as possible.

Following the consultation, we considered all responses to the consultation in producing the final version of the SPD.
