You can now report a faulty street light, fly-posting or a hazardous broken pavement and it will be fixed in 7 days, meaning everyone can have pride in their street.
7 rings, 7 days guarantee
The 7 rings, 7 days guarantee launched last year to make it easier for residents to get in touch and ensure faster repairs across the borough.
The 7 rings guarantee means calls to our dedicated 020 8871 6000 number will be answered by a member of staff within 7 rings. The email address hello@wandsworth.gov.uk is also available for residents to get in touch.
The 7 days guarantee ensures that good customer service is paired with swift action to resolve the issues raised. For the past year, residents have been able to report graffiti, a broken street sign or a dangerous pothole with the council promising to fix it in 7 days. From today, reports of a faulty street light, fly-posting or hazardous broken pavement have also been added.
A digital dashboard contains weekly stats on the success rate of the 7 rings, 7 days commitment, along with monthly updates on actions taken to reach a 100% success rate.
Since the launch of the 7 rings, 7 days guarantee, the council has removed 100% of graffiti, fixed 100% of dangerous potholes and replaced 88% of broken street signs in 7 days.
Heritage signs, some of which are thought to be over 150 years old, typically require additional care and attention when being replaced.
Meticulous attention to detail ensures authentic, well-crafted signs that respect and reflect their historical context.
In addition, 84% of calls to the dedicated 020 8871 6000 number have been answered in 7 rings.
Free bulky waste collections
As part of the 7 rings, 7 days guarantee, we also offered every household two free bulky waste collections a year, saving households £48 per year. Each separate collection can be for up to four items such as a mattress, washing machine or furniture.
Everyone’s free bulky waste allowance has renewed this month, so residents can book a free collection now.
Simon Hogg, Leader of Wandsworth Council, said: “Residents are at the heart of everything we do. We are always looking for ways to improve and make things easier for people. We’re taking care of the things that matter to you, so that together we can keep Wandsworth special.
“We charge the lowest Council Tax in the country and put sound financial management at the heart of everything we do, delivering excellent services while maintaining strong value for money.”
