Residents can simply and easily report graffiti, a broken street sign, a dangerous pothole, faulty street light, fly-posting or a hazardous pavement in just minutes by telling us about the problem and sending a location or photo using WhatsApp, offering a faster, simpler alternative with no forms and no fuss.
Wandsworth Council is one of the first in London to allow residents to report services such as these on WhatsApp, the UK’s most used social media platform according to Ofcom.
Any reports will be fixed swiftly within 7 days as part of Wandsworth’s 7 rings, 7 days guarantee.
Simon Hogg, Leader of Wandsworth Council, said: “We want it to be as easy as possible for residents to get things sorted in their neighbourhood and give them pride in their street.
“By bringing reporting straight onto WhatsApp, we’re meeting residents where they already are and giving them a quick, convenient way to tell us when something needs fixing.
“This is another step in our drive to provide responsive, modern services that make a real difference to everyday life in Wandsworth.”
The council plans to expand the range of issues that can be reported via WhatsApp over the coming months as part of its wider programme to improve digital access to services.
Residents can start using the new tool immediately by messaging the council’s dedicated WhatsApp number.
