West Putney ward by-election to be held on 2 May

Residents living in West Putney ward will be invited to elect a new councillor at a local by-election to be held on Thursday, 2 May.

The by-election has been called following the resignation of Councillor Claire Gilbert and will be held on the same day as the elections for London Mayor and the London Assembly. 

Residents can choose to cast their vote in one of three ways – in person, by post or by proxy.

Please note that when voting in person you are now required to show photographic ID under new Government rules.

Residents who don’t have suitable ID can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate - but they must do so by 5pm on Wednesday, 24 April.

Polling stations will be open on May 2 between 7am and 10pm.

Other ways of voting

Residents living in the West Putney ward who would like to vote but cannot do so in person on the day can apply to vote by post or by proxy.

The deadline to register to vote by post in these elections is 5pm on Wednesday, 17 April.
