Registering to vote

Every British, Commonwealth or Republic of Ireland citizen living in the UK is eligible to vote in this country's elections. All other European Union citizens are eligible to vote in European Parliamentary elections and local elections held here.

You can only vote if your name is on the register of electors (also referred to as the Voters' List). We update the register every autumn. However, you do not have to wait until the autumn to register, as we can add, delete and amend names throughout the year.

Please note that being on the Council Tax list or being in possession of a Wandsworth Parking Permit does not mean that you are on the register of electors.

If your details are incorrect (such as a mispelling) or have changed (for example, if your name has changed), please write to us so that we can update our records accordingly. If you move within Wandsworth or to Wandsworth from another area you need to complete a new voter registration form.

You can return your form by post or fax as detailed on the registration form. Alternatively you may scan and email your completed form to electoral@wandsworth.gov.uk

If you are unable to download this form you can contact Electoral Services and a form will be sent to you.

Only one person can apply per form and you must sign your own form; someone else cannot sign on your behalf.

Council tax and parking permits

Being on the Register of Electors does not mean that your details have been passed on to the Council Tax section in order for you to become a Council Tax payer, or to the Parking section in order for you to obtain a Parking Permit.
