2011 AV referendum
A referendum on the voting system for UK Parliamentary elections took place on Thursday 5 May 2011.
All registered electors who are entitled to vote in UK Parliamentary elections and Peers of the Realm were entitled to vote in this referendum.
A referendum asks you to vote 'yes' or 'no' to a proposal.

At present, the UK uses the 'first past the post' system to elect MPs to the House of Commons. Should the 'alternative vote' system be used instead?
