Proof of address for school admission applications
When you make a school admission application we will try to verify your address from Council records.
If we are unable to do this, for example because you live outside the borough, you will need to provide documents as proof of your address.
Requirements
Please provide either:
- Two original documents from list A, or
- One original document from list A and two original documents from list B
List A
- Utility bill (gas/electricity, telephone, water) no more than three months old
- Credit card statement, no more than three months old
- Council Tax bill, no more than 12 months old
- Council rent book
- HM Revenue and Customs statement or Tax Credit award letter
- State Pension book
- National identity card with address
- Driving licence with address
- Tenancy agreement
- Mortgage statement (within 12 months of current date)
List B
- Court order (within 12 months of the current date)
- UCAS letter (within 12 months of the current date)
- NHS medical card/letter
- Mobile telephone bill (within three months of the current date)
- Benefit/Family Credit Book
- Bank or building society statement (no online/bank branch print-offs), no more than three months old
- Vehicle tax renewal document
- Solicitor's letter regarding house/land purchase (within three months of the current date)
- Home Office permit to stay which shows address
- TV Licence
- Pay slips (where employer’s and employee’s addresses are stated)
- Solicitor letter confirming completion of house purchase or land registration
- Home/car insurance letter
How to submit your documents
You will be asked to submit these documents as part of your application, unless otherwise instructed.
