Christmas tree recycling
Every year we collection and drop-off services for real Christmas trees.
You can help to keep our streets clean by reporting any dumped trees you see.
Collections
Christmas tree recycling collections will start from Monday 5 January 2026 and will run throughout the month.
Your tree will be collected on the same day as your rubbish and recycling, but by a different vehicle so this may not be at the same time as other collections.
Trees should be left out after 6.30pm on the day before the collection is due, and by 6.30am on the collection day.
Where to leave your tree
If you have a front garden - put your tree out for collection next to your rubbish and recycling bags, on your usual collection day - not on the street.
If you do not have a front garden - put your tree just outside your front door on the pavement taking care not to block where people walk.
If you live in a block of flats - leave your tree near to your rubbish or recycling bin store, making sure you do not block access to the bins.
What we can't collect
Trees are sent for composting, so we will not collect your tree if it is:
- Plastic or not real
- Still decorated
- In soil, a pot or stand
- Over 6ft - please cut it into smaller pieces
Missed collections
If your tree wasn't collected as expected, you will be able to report a missed Christmas tree collection.
We will aim to collect your tree within two working days.
