Glassmill planning appeal

A public inquiry is being held by the Planning Inspectorate in relation to a proposed development for a site known as Glassmill, 1 Battersea Bridge Road, London, SW11 3BZ.

Inquiry background

Promontoria Battersea Limited have appealed against the council’s decision to refuse their application for planning permission for:

Comprehensive redevelopment of the site to include demolition of existing building and erection of a part 10 storey, part 28 storey building (plus ground floor and basement levels) comprising residential use (Class C3), office use (Class E), community use (Class F2), and a restaurant (Class E), with associated car parking, cycle parking, public realm, landscaping and other associated works.

Date and time

The inquiry will start at 10am on Tuesday 17 March 2026 and will be held in person in the Grand Chamber Committee Room at Wandsworth Town Hall.

The inquiry is scheduled to run for eight days from Tuesday 17 March to Friday 20 March and from Tuesday 24 March to Friday 27 March 2026.

Seats are available for the public on a first-come, first-served basis each day.

Banners, posters and megaphones are not allowed in the inquiry room.

Livestreaming

The inquiry will be livestreamed, with morning and afternoon sessions.

Recordings will be made available as soon as possible after each session ends.

Site visit

The inspector has invited anyone interested in the appeal to register any viewpoints or locations around the site that should be considered during the site visit.
