If you are struggling with the cost of living and want to understand what support is available to you, or need help managing your money, debt or household bills, expert advisors will be on hand to offer tailored advice. They can assist with a wide range of queries, from helping you to access all the benefits you are entitled to, to directing you to council or voluntary sector services that can support you.
The event will be an opportunity for you to speak directly with staff across Wandsworth Council, as well as other organisations such as Citizens Advice, Crew Energy and South West London Law Centres.
The Money Advice Roadshow will take place between 2pm to 4pm on Thursday, 2 October at Mitcham Lane Baptist Church, 230 Mitcham Lane, SW16 6NT. The first 100 households will receive a £10 supermarket voucher for attending the event.
This event is open to everyone living in Wandsworth and no appointment is needed. Just drop in and you can speak to a variety of council services and voluntary organisations who can help.
Cllr Angela Ireland, Cabinet Member for Finance, said:
“We know that navigating financial matters and support can be confusing and overwhelming, so we’re working to make it as simple as possible for residents to talk to us and get personalised advice.
“Events like this are one of the ways the council is responding to the cost-of-living crisis, alongside our Access for All programme, which aims to make key services and activities more inclusive and affordable for residents.
"We are committed to creating a fairer borough and that starts with being accessible for our communities and listening to our residents.”

As part of the council’s broader commitment to fairness, eligible residents can get 50% to 100% discounts on a wide range of services through Wandsworth Council’s Access for All programme, Britain’s best concession scheme.
From gym sessions to swimming lessons, to wedding ceremonies and event tickets, Access for All aims to ensure every resident can benefit from opportunities that make Wandsworth a great place to live.

Support this winter
This winter, we are once again providing a network of Community Spaces across the borough, offering residents welcoming places to visit and stay warm throughout the colder months. These hubs will be friendly drop-in spaces to meet others and get involved in your community.
For more information about activities available and to see a map across the borough of the spaces, please visit our Community Spaces directory.
The council has also partnered with Crew Energy to deliver free Warm Home Packs to eligible residents this year. These free packs are designed to help households reduce energy bills by as much as £250 a year and make homes more comfortable during the colder months. Packs include items such as draught excluding tape, a smart plug, and a shower timer.
Eligible residents will have received a letter in the post inviting them to collect their free packs. If you haven’t received a letter and think you may be eligible, please contact: togetheronclimatechange@wandsworth.gov.uk.
