Black history and culture celebrated in Wandsworth

October is Black History Month, and events will be held in Wandsworth as part of the council’s year-round programme, Black History 365.

The Black History Month Food Tour on October 24 will be a chance to sample traditional dishes and hear the stories behind the food. The £25 three-hour guided tour will visit African and Caribbean food businesses in Tooting, including generous tasting portions. Find out more
The Black History Month Market in Bramlands Square, Clapham Junction on October 17 will feature art, food, gifts and drumming workshops. The market will showcase a range of African-Caribbean owned borough businesses. Businesses interested in taking part should get in touch by October 4. Find out more
Carnival Roots – Roehampton Celebrates is a fun, free community carnival on October 27. Enjoy live performance, food, music, workshops and crafts. Find out more
