Support for residents affected by the Maysoule Road Fire

We have now offered permanent council homes to almost all those who were living in the block under a secure lifetime tenancy, and we continue to support the other affected residents with rehousing. 

Many local residents have asked to donate and further support those who are affected and so a dedicated donation link has been set up to ensure that contributions go to those affected. 

We want to be clear that this in response to the community’s desire to help and support residents directly and not a request to support council services and operations. 

All donations will be used solely to support those from Fox House who have been displaced or affected.  

This fund is separate from the Council and the three Mayoral charities currently supported. Any donations made using this link will be allocated using this ringfenced campaign.

Where the funds will go 

The funds raised will be used to support those families that have had their possessions destroyed by the fire and have no other access to funds to replace them. Priority will be given to those in need of furniture to help set them up in their new accommodation. 

We are also aware of other GoFundMe pages in support of Fox House residents; however, they have no connection to the council, and we have no influence over what will happen to the donations of those funds.
