Published: Saturday, October 11, 2025
Putney and Thamesfield residents joined us on Saturday 11 October to meet with Council Leader Simon Hogg at the latest community drop-in event, an open space for residents to share their views, ask questions, and discuss issues that matter most to them.

The council recognised residents’ frustration with the traffic challenges in Putney and outlined how it is working closely with Transport for London (TfL), to address key issues, including:
- Improving synchronisation and operation of traffic lights managed by TfL to ease congestion at key junctions by allowing more green time
- Reviewing bus stops and driver changeover points with TfL to help keep traffic moving more smoothly
Simon Hogg committed to improved communication with residents about actions going forwards.
A full report on the junction will be presented at the Transport Committee in November and will present additional information for residents.
Resident's were also able to discuss cleaner streets, and investment in the area, such as the improvements to Putney leisure centre.
Council Leader Simon Hogg said:
“As a listening council, we greatly value the opportunity to engage directly with residents. These drop-in sessions are an important way for us to hear from our communities, understand their priorities and work together to create meaningful change in the local area.”
Simon Hogg was joined by local MP Fleur Anderson, the local police team, and council officers from housing, waste and recycling and community safety.
