Local residents asked the Leader several questions about bin collections, recycling and the future of the Alton estate.
Simon Hogg shared what the Council is doing in these areas, including our Cleaner Borough Plan which guarantees weekly bin collections at no extra charge, how 5,000 tonnes of waste has been recycled with the ambition to recycle more.
In addition, he shared details of how the Council is working with the Metropolitan Police to provide a more visible and responsive local policing presence through the newly opened Roehampton Community Safety Touchdown Space on Danebury Avenue.

Simon Hogg said: “We know how much having a safer neighbourhood is, the new touchdown space has been opened and the police now have a base to spend more time in the local area.”
He also discussed the Alton Renewal Plan with the ambition to build new homes, regenerate estates and invest more in estate managers.

The event, held at Roehampton Sport and Fitness Centre was the latest in a series of monthly community drop-ins across the borough.
Residents are invited to discuss important topics, receive direct advice and support, learn more about Council services and plans for their local area, and share ideas for neighbourhood improvements.
Along with the Council Leader, you may also be able to talk to your Ward Councillors and local MP, as well as representatives from Citizens Advice, Community Safety, and various other services over hot drinks and refreshments.
