The weekend is delivered alongside partners as part of the borough’s Wandsworth Moves Together strategy, which is helping more residents lead active, healthy lives. This includes a focus on encouraging women and girls to be more active. The upcoming Weekender includes an expanded programme of women‑and girls‑only sessions, making it an ideal opportunity for those who prefer a supportive, female-focused environment to try out new activities and build confidence.

Paul White, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “Wandsworth Wellness Weekender is back for 2026, helping everyone discover local opportunities to feel confident getting active.

“This year, we’re especially pleased to offer a wider range of opportunities for women and girls, alongside free, inclusive activities for the whole community. We hope everyone will come and give something new a try.”

The Wellness Weekender isn’t the only exciting free opportunity for Wandsworth residents happening across the weekend. Saturday 21 March will play host to The Beat Goes On, a high-energy celebration of music, movement and community at Battersea Power Station, marking the end of Wandsworth’s year as London Borough of Culture.

No joining fee this weekend

As well as the free activities taking place across the borough, participating Places Leisure centres will offer no joining fee on memberships across the two days. Some centres will also offer free EGYM Fitness Hub assessments and other introductory benefits. Residents can redeem the offer by visiting their local centre on 21 or 22 March and providing proof of address.

Launched in October 2024, the Women and Girls Working Group brought together council services, community organisations, schools, and sports clubs to co-design an action plan.
