Women celebrate Enterprise Day at Wandsworth awards event

The winners of this year's Wandsworth Women's Enterprise Awards have been announced at a star-studded event with guest speakers including Karen Millen and Viv Groskop.

Celebration: Winning businesswomen at the 10th awards

Awards were given out in seven categories as 100 businesswomen from across Wandsworth celebrated the 10th Women's Enterprise Day at the Roehampton Club on Roehampton Lane. 

The winners

Rising Star award:

  • Winner - Frankie Michaela Spivey (Frankie’s Brownies Ltd)
  • Runner-up - Laura Salisbury (KnitRegen Ltd)

Best Creative Business award:

  • Winner - Catherine Marche jewellery 
  • Runner-up - Roopa Design

Best Social Enterprise/Charity award:

  • Winner - World Heart Beat Music Academy 
  • Runners-up - Home Community Cafe and Waste Not Want Not Battersea

Best Sustainable Business award:

  • Winner - The Furniture Narrative 
  • Runner-up - The Earlsfield Reflexologist

Best Online Business award:

  • Winner - March and Bloom 
  • Runner-up - Time4PA

Entrepreneur of the Year award:

  • Winner - Mary Lonsdale (Mentor Education)
  • Runner-up - Joanne Playford (The London Curtain and Blind Company) 

High Street Hero award:

  • Winner - Home Community Café (Earlsfield)
  • Runner-up - Moxies Fish Bar (Clapham South)

'Inspiration'

Sahana Gero, winner of the Best Social Enterprise/Charity award said: "It is a huge honour to receive this accolade of Best Charity in this year’s Wandsworth Women’s Enterprise Awards. I set up World Heart Beat to address the lack of affordable music tuition available to disadvantaged young people, and with the aim of opening career pathways into the music and wider creative industries."

Asma Sharapova, from Ascetic Aesthete Perfume Creation said: "Thank you so much for putting together such an outstanding event! Wow! I loved every moment, it was packed full of such riveting experiences and really helpful ideas and inspiration for my business. I am still enjoying the afterglow and memories!"
