Hosted at St Paul's Church, residents asked the Leader several questions about how to improve the local area.
Speaking during the Q&A session, Simon Hogg said, ‘We froze council tax for the third year in a row. As well as this, we have the biggest cost of living support in London and have created Britain's best concessionary offer, Access for All where all residents have an equal chance to access local opportunities.’
A resident asked what is being done about illegal fly-tipping in the area.
Simon Hogg said, ‘We are supporting residents to dispose of items through free monthly mega skips and bulky waste collections. Households get two free bulky waste collections every 12 months.’
Simon Hogg shared what the Council is doing with NCIL funding in West Hill, encouraging residents to contribute to the NCIL ‘ideas wall,’ where they had the chance to suggest what they think is in need in their local area, to inform the Council what the priorities should be when assessing proposals.
Residents who attended the drop-in session, were also able to speak to local housing officers, the children’s services team and community safety team.
