Join in taking climate action by sharing your exciting ideas for Sustainable September – from gardening and nature projects, to repair and recycling hubs, street festivals and community events.

Sustainable September is a month of community action to tackle climate change and champion local sustainability initiatives.

Wandsworth’s first-ever Sustainable September last year engaged more than 4,500 attendees across 69 community-led climate action events – and we want 2025 to be even bigger and better with your help.

Register your climate-focused projects, events and activities now to reach even more residents across the borough and beyond.

We’re also doubling the amount of money available through our Climate Action Microgrants scheme for projects taking place in Sustainable September.

The grants of between £100 and £500 are available for Wandsworth community and voluntary groups and individuals.

Paul White, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “We are excited to hear your brilliant ideas for events that bring communities together, help people think about climate change, and get the ball rolling on local climate action.

“It could be a school project, a street festival, a nature trail, repair or reuse initiatives - anything that encourages community conversations and helps local people bring about real change.

“We’re also doubling the amount of money available through our climate action microgrants for projects taking place during Sustainable September, to give even more support to our communities. Get in touch now with your idea.”
