New Leader of Wandsworth Council confirmed

Councillor Robert Morritt has been confirmed as the new Leader of Wandsworth Council.

Cllr Morritt takes over from Cllr Aled Richards-Jones, who announced earlier this month that he would be stepping down as Leader of the Council.
The appointment was confirmed at a meeting of Wandsworth Council on 22 July 2026.
Cllr Morritt said his immediate focus would be on providing clear leadership for the council, responding to the financial challenges facing Wandsworth, and maintaining the services residents rely on.
