Henry Prince Clubroom reopens after refurbishment

The Henry Prince Community Clubroom in Earlsfield has officially reopened its doors after undergoing a major council-led refurbishment, bringing new life to this much-loved community space.

The clubroom is home to a number of community groups and the refurbishment was led by Wandsworth Council with funding won from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It now features a host of modern upgrades designed to benefit the local community for years to come. These include: 

  • A brand new kitchen 
  • Upgraded accessible toilet facilities  
  • Complete redecoration inside and outside 
  • A new entrance door and windows 
  • New flooring throughout the building 
  • New external signage 
  • A planter with a variety of plants 
  • Renewed and improved heating and electrics 
  • Installation of CCTV 

Aydin Dikerdem, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: 

“The refurbishment of the Henry Prince Clubroom is a fantastic example of how we’re investing in our estates and community spaces. The reopening marks not just the renewal of a building, but the strengthening of community ties and the creation of a welcoming, functional, and vibrant space for all generations to enjoy.” 

To celebrate the reopening, a community event was held featuring a variety of activities, including one-to-one boxing sessions, children’s art activities, the Youth Bus, and lively dominoes demonstrations, showcasing the spirit of connection and inclusion that the clubroom embodies.
