Thousands of people are expected to flock to Putney Town Centre and the Embankment to watch the four-mile race along the Thames from Putney to Mortlake.

The town’s pubs, bars and restaurants will be welcoming visitors, and in Church Square there will be entertainment from Riverside Radio, food and drink and an Easter Bonnet Parade at 11am. Find out more.

The Women’s Race starts at 2.21pm, and the Men’s Race starts at 3.21pm.

Visitors are encouraged to come to Putney on public transport. Putney has two tube stations, a mainline train station and a River Boat service, and is served by numerous bus routes.

Dockless Lime and Forest E-bikes will not be operational on the day along The Embankment. E-bike and scooter users are reminded to park vehicles responsibly in designated parking areas.

Expect road closures and parking suspensions between 7am and 7pm on the day. Parking will be suspended on Putney Embankment from Thai Square to Leader’s Gardens. Parking bays alongside the Star and Garter pub in Lower Richmond Road will also be suspended.

Residential roads linking Putney Embankment with the Lower Richmond Road will be closed to all traffic on Saturday apart from residents’ access.

These roads may also be subject to some parking suspensions at junctions to allow emergency vehicles to access them without being obstructed.
