Women and Girls Revenue Grant Fund

The Wandsworth Women and Girls Sport and Physical Activity Revenue Grant will allow sports clubs, community organisations and charities, trusts, schools, colleges and universities to initiate new sport and physical activity programmes and activities specifically for women and girls.

Aim of the grant

The aim of the Wandsworth Women and Girls Sport and Physical Activity Revenue Grant Fund is to support the delivery of the Wandsworth Moves Together Strategy (WMTS) by increasing sport and physical activity opportunities for all residents, from all sections of the community, of the London Borough of Wandsworth.

The WMTS Working Group for Women and Girls identified eight themes that local communities identified as barriers to participation in sport and physical activity for women and girls. All applications must address one of more of these themes listed below.

  • Affordability
  • Information
  • Psychological barriers
  • Representation
  • Safety
  • Secondary school girls
  • Settings
  • Wellbeing

Grant amount

To provide a substantial funding stream for all areas, the borough has been divided into five cluster areas:

  • North Battersea
  • Wandsworth
  • Putney
  • South Battersea and Balham
  • Tooting

You must indicate in your application which area you are applying for as each area has a separate amount of funding available.

Grants can fund up to 100% of the total project cost. The maximum award is £5,000

Only one-off awards will be made. Successful organisations cannot apply to the Wandsworth Women and Girls Sport and Physical Activity Revenue Grant Fund for one year from the date of the offer letter.

Projects will need to demonstrate that sustainability has been considered if they are for ongoing activity.

Who can apply

Applications are open to any voluntary or community sport and physical activity organisation, charity, trust, school, college or university that can demonstrate how they meet the criteria of the grant.

The application must be for a project delivered within the borough of Wandsworth and must demonstrate benefit to residents of the borough of Wandsworth.
