Creative careers

We offer support to schools and young people on how to take the next steps towards a creative career, including live events, projects and work opportunities.

Creative Routes

In July 2023, 375 pupils from Wandsworth primary schools took part in Creative Routes workshops designed to introduce them to creative career pathways.

Working with year 5 or 6, Creative Routes workshops are delivered by a creative professional to teach a new pupils a new creative skill and open their eyes to a wider range of creative skills and opportunities.

Workshops last term focused on journalism with former BBC reporter, producer and Head of Change Sarah Burbedge or illustration and the publishing world from professional illustrator Grace Holliday.

During their interactive creative session pupils got a taste of industry insights by being given their very own fun mini-brief and commission style experience.

Creative Routes is produced by Wandsworth Arts & Culture Service on behalf of Wandsworth Council. To find out about future workshops and how to get your school involved contact creativewandsworth@wandsworth.gov.uk
