Over 100 local participants and dancers, from children to mature residents, will perform alongside world-class artists in a spectacular outdoor procession that blends contemporary dance, martial arts, live soundscapes, and 100 hand-painted silk flags created by residents and Indian artists.

Date: Saturday 13 September 2025
Time: 2 to 5pm
Location: The procession starts at Roehampton Library, and ends at Downshire Field (Bull Green)

Alton residents invited to get moving from Couch to 5K

Residents of the Alton Estate in Roehampton are being encouraged to take their first steps towards fitness by joining the NHS Couch to 5K initiative.

This free and accessible programme is designed to help beginners gradually build up their running ability, making it a great way to improve health and wellbeing.

Taking part is easy – simply download the Couch to 5K app and let us know you’re getting involved by calling 07903 927479 or emailing bugbearworkshops@gmail.com. Participants who sign up will receive additional support to stay motivated and on track throughout their journey.

This initiative is part of Wandsworth Moves Together, the council’s leisure strategy, which is committed to creating estate-based physical activity programmes that deliver affordable and accessible opportunities for residents. The Alton Estate pilot is the first of many initiatives aimed at making it easier for people to lead active and healthy lives.
