We have outlined a high level plan that shows the key activities that will be happening and when.

Dates are always subject to change, depending on a number of factors, but we will try to stick to them as much as we can, and update you of any changes as we progress.

• October: Ballot Decision
• November: Improvement works start on Alton Activity Centre & Downshire Field playspaces
• December:
  • Early Improvement Plan submitted for Planning
  • Murals across the estate completed
  • Detailed design of masterplan
  • Preparation of Early Improvement Plan site

2026

• Spring:
  • Local elections
  • Installation of a new ‘Welcome to Alton’ gateway sign
  • Leisure centre linkway artwork installed
  • Wayfinding and heritage trails completed
  • Foodwaste bins programme roll out
• Summer:
  • Alton Activity Centre & Downshire Field playspaces open
  • New creative lighting projects installed
• Winter: Focus Hall refurbished and re-opened

2027

• Early Spring:
  • Start on site - Early Improvement Plan - Community Hub
  • Masterplan submitted for Planning
• Summer: Start on site - Early Improvement Plan - Residential building

2028

• Spring: Planning Committee - Masterplan
• Winter: Completion - Early Improvement Plan - Community Hub

2029

• Summer:
  • Completion - Early Improvement Plan - Residential building
  • Portswood Place start on site

2030

• Spring: Danebury Square and Retail Parade start on site
• Early Summer: Local elections

• Early Summer: Portswood Place completion
