Housing service standards for the home
We will:
- Service every tenanted property that has a gas supply every 12 months and ensure we gain access to all properties to undertake gas servicing
- Review Fire Risk Assessments regularly on all purpose built blocks and properties with communal areas owned and managed by the Council
- Inspect water tanks and carry out appropriate water sample testing
- Inspect a percentage of all repair orders after they have been completed to ensure value for money and works have been completed to the right standard
- Monitor and report our performance for percentage of repairs completed in local target time across all priorities
- Provide more services online so it is easier to report repairs or raise queries
- Deal with all RTB applications within statutory timescales and provide advice through our dedicated Homeownership Team to support purchase across a range of schemes the council operates
- Increase take up of house purchase grants and promote opportunities for home ownership
- Maintain 100% of the Council’s stock to the decent homes standard with a capital programme that will help achieve this; and seek to deliver a Decent Homes Plus programme of works which can also include delivering environmental works.
- Deliver the Council’s self build programme to help meet local resident housing demands
Housing Services (Housing Advice and Homelessness)
We will:
- Maintain a reception and appointments service to deal with housing advice and options enquiries
- Complete 58% of homelessness applications within 33 working days providing you have given us all the information we have requested
- Report on the number of under occupation transfers achieved and encourage mobility schemes to assist residents who wish to move
- Regularly review the online advice pages for housing advice and homelessness to ensure they are up to date and as informative as possible
- Assist those affected by domestic violence and victims of hate crime through our Stay Put Stay Safe Scheme
