Unpaid Carers' Charter spotlights
Find out how local services are using the Wandsworth Adult and Young Unpaid Carers' Charter.
Wandsworth Carers Centre
Wandsworth Carers Centre supports unpaid carers across the borough. The charity explained why it has signed up to the Charter:
"At Wandsworth Carers Centre, we see every day the vital role unpaid carers play in our community, and the challenges they face.
"The Adult and Young Unpaid Carers' Charter represents a shared promise across Wandsworth to do better for carers. It reflects what carers themselves have told us matters most which is being recognised, listened to and supported in ways that make a difference.
"We were proud to work alongside carers, the Council, NHS partners and community organisations to help shape the Charter.
"Through our work, we provide support including counselling, peer groups, training and wellbeing activities that help carers stay connected, informed and resilient. But no single organisation can do this alone. That’s why we encourage organisations across Wandsworth to sign up to the Charter.
"Whether you are a school, employer, community group or public service, you play a crucial role in helping carers feel recognised and supported."
