Subject: Refugee households

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request information about refugee households in Wandsworth in June 2022 and at December 2022. Please acknowledge receipt of this request and indicate when I might receive the requested information.

  • As at 1 June 2022 how many Afghan refugee households qualifying for ARAP status were living in Wandsworth.

  • As at 1 June 2022 how many Afghan refugee households qualifying for ACRS status were living in Wandsworth.

  • As at 1 June 2022 how many Syrian refugee households were living in Wandsworth

  • As at 1 June 2022 how many Ukrainian refugee households were living in Wandsworth.

  • As at 1 June 2022 how many unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors were living in Wandsworth and of these how many were children looked after

    For each category, please state how many households were accommodated in Council owned housing, how many in RSL owned housing and how many in private owner housing.

    Please provide how these numbers changed by 31 December 2022. To clarify, I am looking for the following information -

  • As at 31 December 2022 how many Afghan refugee households qualifying for ARAP status were living in Wandsworth.

  • As at 31 December 2022 how many Afghan refugee households qualifying for ACRS status were living in Wandsworth.

  • As at 31 December how many Syrian refugee households were living in Wandsworth

  • As at 31 December how many Ukrainian refugee households were living in Wandsworth.

  • As at 32 December how many unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors were living in Wandsworth and of these how many were children looked after

    And for each of the above, please state how many households were accommodated in Council owned housing, how many in RSL owned housing and how many in private owned housing.

    Fewer than 5.

  • As at 1 June 2022 how many Afghan refugee households qualifying for ACRS status were living in Wandsworth?

  • As at 1 June 2022 how many Ukrainian refugee households were living in Wandsworth?

    As of 01/06/2022 Wandsworth had welcomed 270 Ukrainian groups under the Homes for Ukraine scheme. This figure does not include those who have been housed under the Ukraine family or extension scheme as the government does not provide information on these visa schemes at local authority level.

  • As at 1 June 2022 how many unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors were living in Wandsworth and of these how many were children looked after?

    27 Unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors were children looked after at 01/06/2022, <5 placed in the borough of Wandsworth.

  • As at 31 December 2022 how many Afghan refugee households qualifying for ARAP status were living in Wandsworth?

  • As at 31 December how many Ukrainian refugee households were living in Wandsworth?

    As of 31/12/2022 Wandsworth had welcomed 514 Ukrainian groups under the Homes for Ukraine scheme. This figure does not include those who have been housed under the Ukraine family or extension scheme as the government does not provide information on these visa schemes at local authority level.

  • As at 32 December how many unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors were living in Wandsworth and of these how many were children looked after?

    31 Unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors were children looked after at 31/12/2022, 6 placed in the borough of Wandsworth.

    You will notice that the phrase 'fewer than 5' has been used in lieu of some exact figures above. This is because Wandsworth Council considers that disclosure of very low numbers of individuals would enable the identification of a living individual from that information, or, from the information and other data in the possession of, or likely to come into the possession of, a data controller. Disclosure of the requested information would result in a breach of one or more of the principles of the GDPR/DPA 2018 and the information is therefore exempt in accordance with Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
