I am requesting all information related to abandoned vehicles in your local area, including data breakdowns on the number of abandoned vehicles each year since records began, a breakdown of the types of vehicles (e.g. car / van / motorcycles) and the model of vehicles alongside any other relevant information you may have?

We are unable to provide this information as we consider the cost to do so would exceed the FOI appropriate limit, as specified in the Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004; therefore section 12(1) of the Act applies.

The appropriate limit has been set at £450 and may include working hours of any person acting on our behalf at a rate of £25 per hour. This equates to 18 hours to locate and extract the relevant information.

To comply with your request would take more than 18 hours as the information is not held in a readily extractable format and would require a manual undertaking to review approximately 2237 records. Even at a conservative estimate of 5 minutes per case file it would take more than 186 hours to Identify, locate, retrieve and extract the relevant information. This significantly exceeds the appropriate limit under the Act. You may wish to narrow the scope of your request.
