We are hoping to compile information on London Borough specific support services for those impacted by Gender-Based Violence. Please may you provide the following info:

1) Information on any Council funded, supported or sponsored activity that aims to support / protect victims of gender-based violence - particularly young people?

2) Information on any Council funded, supported or sponsored activity that aims to support / rehabilitate perpetrators of gender-based violence - particularly young people?

3) Information on any Council funded, supported or sponsored activity that aims to support schools or teachers to help their students in relation to gender-based violence?

I refer to your request for information received on 20 January 2023. Please accept our apologies for the delay. Please see the information below in response to your request: -

1) Information on any Council funded, supported or sponsored activity that aims to support / protect victims of gender-based violence - particularly young people?

  • Wandsworth council commissions Hestia as the main advocacy and refuge accommodation provider in the borough. Hestia supports domestic abuse victims of all genders aged 16+

  • Wandsworth council commissions Refuge to deliver Complex Needs service which supports domestic abuse survivors with additional support needs such as mental health and substance misuse. Refuge supports domestic abuse victims of all genders aged 16+

  • Wandsworth council commissions SPEAR to deliver an accommodation service to female victims of domestic abuse with complex support needs, aged 18+

    2) Information on any Council funded, supported or sponsored activity that aims to support / rehabilitate perpetrators of gender-based violence - particularly young people?

  • It is part of Hestia's contract to deliver a perpetrator's programme. This programme is delivered by the organisation Rise Mutual which is subcontracted by Hestia

    3) Information on any Council funded, supported or sponsored activity that aims to support schools or teachers to help their students in relation to gender-based violence?

  • N/A
