EU Settlement Scheme
In response to the Coronavirus pandemic and in the interests of protecting all users of Council services, all EUSS appointments are currently cancelled.
If you are a European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) or Swiss citizen, you and your family will be able to apply to get either settled or pre-settled status.
The London Borough of Wandsworth is one of the local authorities supporting EU, EEA and Swiss citizens to complete the ID verification part of the process.
Who can apply?

There will be no change to current rights under EU law until the end of the planned implementation period on 31 December 2020.

You will need a compatible phone or tablet if you want to scan your identity document yourself. This can be your own phone or tablet, or someone else’s.
Please note that the ID verification app which had previously only been available on Android devices is now available on iPhones 8 and above (shortly to be 7 and above).
There is no need to book an appointment with us if you have access to a compatible phone or tablet. We use the same app that you can access from home. There is no additional advantage to be gained by using the app with us.
We can only assist with the document verification part of the process. We are not authorised to assist with completion of your application thereafter or provide immigration advice.

If your mobile phone or tablet is not compatible you can make an appointment to bring your ID document to us, where it can be scanned and verified for you. You will then be required to complete your application for pre-settled or settled status online.
We will not need to keep your ID document and in most cases you should not be asked to send your passport anywhere else during your application for pre-settled or settled status.
Please note, if you have already used the app at home and have been directed to send original documents to the Home Office, we will not be able to help you. Please do not make an appointment.
What to bring to your appointment
- Your current valid biometric EU, EEA or Swiss passport or a valid Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) for family members of an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen
- A mobile phone that can receive text messages or a device that can receive emails
Only the ID documents listed above can be checked by us, if you do not have one of these ID documents then please visit the Apply to the EU Settlement Scheme (settled and pre-settled status) web page (GOV.UK) for further information.
Please be advised that we use the same online app that is accessible to the general public via a compatible device. You may wish to consider whether friends or family members who have a compatible device can assist you.
If you have booked an appointment but have been able to self-serve in the meantime, please contact us to cancel the appointment so that it can be released for someone else to use. No-shows are currently contributing to long waiting times and we would like to be able to continue offering the service to those who need it.
The EU Settlement Scheme is free for residents of the London Borough of Wandsworth (proof of residence required at the time of your appointment).
This service will be free to staff of Wandsworth Council and Richmond upon Thames Council.
Non resident fee: £14.
We cannot provide this service to EU citizens who have already attempted to use the self service application.
