Description

Demolition of existing non-residential building and multi-use games area and redevelopment of the site to include development of two five-storey buildings providing 57 new Council rent homes and a new community room with associated bicycle parking, residential car parking, refuse storage, plant and outdoor private amenity space. Provision of a new shared street and enhancements to existing public open space (including new and improved children's play space and replacement multi-use games area) and associated landscaping.

News

Works are progressing well.  Internally, the electrical, mechanical and carpentry works are in the second stages of completion. Flooring has been completed to the balcony and walkway areas and work is underway to the lifts. Plastering has commenced on the internal walls. Externally, the scaffolding is starting to be dismantled and the cleaning of the building elevation will commence.

Looking ahead, the groundworkers are returning to carry out paving and landscaping works around the blocks. Stonework, window installation, levelling of walkways and waterproofing should all be completed in May. The electricity and water to the blocks are due to be commissioned over the coming weeks. Lift installation is continuing and painting is due to start internally.
