Lamp column charging
We were awarded funding through the Go Ultra Low Cities Scheme (GULCS) for lamp column electric vehicle charging in the borough. This is from the Office of Low Emissions (OLEV).
Lamp column electric vehicle charging is being provided for residents with electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles who have no off-road parking but would like to charge their vehicles overnight.
Since January 2018 we have received more than 700 requests from residents who would like a lamp column chargepoint on their street.
Siemens has installed 230 charging points on street lamp columns across the borough. This equipment ties in with Ubitricity offering an on-street option for residents.
Installation has commenced. Find out where lamp column charging points are on a map.
Residents can choose between membership or Pay-As-You-Go options.

To find out which Ubitricity points are live, or to report a fault with a charging point, you can download the Ubitricity app or phone 0800 024 6279.
We are currently trying to secure more funding for further installations of lamp column charging points.
However, we still welcome resident requests as this will help inform our decision making process for future installations. If you are interested in having a charging point installed in a lamp column on your street, please complete our online form.
