Battersea Park summer events kick off this weekend
Published: Friday, May 31, 2019
A summer of activities in Battersea Park starts this weekend with a chance to scale the heights, ride the waves and enjoy a spot of tea.
On every Saturday and Sunday in June Battersea Park will be hosting a different activity which all the family can enjoy. First up is the arrival of the Climbing Wall and Surfing Simulator on Saturday, June 1 from 10am to 6pm around the Bowling Green. On dry land a number of other fun activities will be taking place including face painting. Food and drink will be served – as they will be every Saturday and Sunday in June - in the Bowling Green from 11am to 8.30pm. Prices start at £3.
The following day, Sunday, June 2, the mood switches as you are invited to the delights of Afternoon Tea at the Bandstand. Take a break from the cares of modern life in the beautiful Victorian bandstand and treat someone special to a tasty tea between noon and 4pm. Tables are available for up to an hour. To book go to www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/afternoon-tea-at-the-bandstand-in-battersea-park-tickets-62138510959.
It’s all part of the council’s celebration of its great parks under the #LoveParksWandsworth banner, which will see more than 250 park-related events taking place in Wandsworth’s parks until the end of September.
