Work Match is a free service matching Wandsworth residents to local jobs. It works with job seekers looking for employment and offers a bespoke service to local businesses searching for staff.

At its breakfast summit on July 23 it wants to start a dialogue with a wide range of businesses that are involved in the direct recruitment of staff. The aim is to listen to their recruitment needs and the challenges they face and get feedback that it can use to continue to evolve its recruitment service.

Since 2013 Work Match has helped more than 1200 people into work and it has worked closely with a range of businesses including Cineworld, Battersea Power Station, St James Group, Ballymore, Sainsbury’s, Homebase and many independent shops and businesses around the borough. It recently opened new offices in Falcon Road, Battersea so that more people can benefit from the service it provides.

The council’s cabinet member for skills and employment Cllr Jonathan Cook said: “Our highly successful Work Match team pride themselves on finding the right person for the job and making sure he or she is fully prepared to meet the demands put upon them.

“But there is always room to learn more, and we’re keen to talk to as many local businesses as possible to ensure we continue to provide a service that is as beneficial as possible both to local jobseekers and the firms employing them. I look forward to meeting you at the summit.”
