Have your say on £182k investment plan for Battersea’s Falcon Park

People are being urged to take part in a public consultation on proposed new play facilities and landscaping improvements in Battersea’s Falcon Park.
The council’s open spaces contractor Enable Leisure and Culture is seeking the views of local people on how best to spend £182,500 which has been earmarked for new play equipment and landscaping changes at the northern end of the park.
The project coincides with work being carried out in the south western corner of Falcon Park to provide a new £2.1m all-weather pitch aimed at boosting sports participation and improving leisure facilities for the area’s young people.
One of the three options up for grabs
The new 3G artificial grass pitch will replace four existing junior size grass pitches which are regularly deemed unplayable in the winter months because of waterlogging.
Replacing them with an all-weather playing surface with floodlights means young footballers and other sports clubs will be able to use them for around 80 hours a week - compared to the ten hour limit recommended for grass pitches by the Football Association.
The new pitch will be used mainly for football but will also support other sports like rugby and cricket.
Following the consultation for the all-weather pitch local people came up with a series of suggestions for improvements at the northern end of the park and based on that feedback, three sets of designs have been drawn up.
Now local people are being asked which of the three designs they like the best.
The consultation runs until Sunday February 10. People can view the three designs and choose their favourite by visiting https://haveyoursay.citizenspace.com/wandsworthecs/falcon-park-19
