Working together to support the community
Published: 25 September 2018
Wandsworth Council supports a wide range of voluntary and community sector organisations through the Wandsworth Grant Fund, the Wandsworth Local Fund and the Wandsworth Community Fund managed by the London Community Foundation.
Now the council is to work more closely with other local organisations to make it easier for charities and community groups to identify sources of funding.
An event at the Battersea Arts Centre was spearheaded by the chairman of the council’s grants committee, Cllr Melanie Hampton, and brought together representatives from the council with other funding organisations, including the Wimbledon Community Foundation, Enable Leisure and Culture, Tideway, the Berkeley Foundation, the Big Lottery Fund, Taylor Wimpey and others.
Cllr Hampton said: “This was an interactive evening that featured lively discussions on the challenges faced, and explored ways that we can compliment our giving.”
“It was a very stimulating evening sharing ideas to help benefit Wandsworth residents and I would like to thank you all for making it such a positive evening.”
The Wandsworth Grant Fund supports a wide range of not-for-profit activities. Find out more, and how to apply, at www.wandsworth.gov.uk/wgf.
