Queenstown ward by-election candidate list published

Nominations have now closed for the Queenstown by-election.

Residents of the ward will go to the polls on November 10 to elect a councillor following the death of Cllr Sally-Ann Ephson.

The following candidates are standing for election.

Liberal Democrats


Rhodri David Elwyn

Conservative Party

Labour Party

Anyone eligible who wishes to vote in the by-election must make sure their name is on the electoral register before the deadline of midnight on Tuesday 25 October 2016.

British citizens, along with citizens of Commonwealth countries, the Republic of Ireland, British Overseas Territories and the European Union are all eligible to vote at this election. 

Anyone who is not registered should visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. Once your application has been received the council’s electoral services department may need to contact you to request further information, so make sure you apply as soon as possible.

Anyone wishing to request a postal vote must do so by 5pm on Wednesday October 26. This date also applies to anyone who wants to cancel an existing postal or proxy vote. The voter must provide a signed letter confirming this and stating that they no longer wish to vote post or proxy as appropriate.

To apply for a postal or proxy vote, registered electors should visit http://www.wandsworth.gov.uk/ and type ‘vote by post’ or ‘vote by proxy’ in the search field to download an application form.

Polling cards will be delivered to all eligible voters by Royal Mail before the election takes place. These will contain information about the date and time of the poll and a map showing the location of voters’ allocated polling station.
