Last November Wandsworth Council and Fashion Enter hosted the first ever “Big Fashion Conversation” at the town hall. The event saw around 250 local young people meet face to face with professionals from big name brands like Alvanon, ASOS, the Cult of Fashion, the London Manufacturing Advisory Service, New Look, River Island and UKFT.
Wandsworth Council education spokesman Kathy Tracey said:
“These apprenticeships are fantastic opportunities to get a foothold in the industry and I hope Wandsworth residents will apply. Just weeks ago the town hall was filled with talented young people wanting to work in fashion and we will do everything we can to help them achieve their goals. Fashion Enter will provide many more opportunities in the weeks and months ahead so keep a close eye on their website.”
Fashion Enter Director Jenny Holloway said:
“The power of the Big Fashion Conversation continues! It's wonderful that we had such a vibrant audience within the Wandsworth Borough and now they can apply for these unique jobs as a fashion apprentice. Once you have a foothold in the industry and complete your apprenticeship you will be amazed how many doors this opens for different careers. University is not for everyone and apprenticeships really are a fantastic way to start your fashion career.”
