It’s two days to go until the fourth annual Get Active Day in King George’s Park.

The day is the showcase event of the 2013 Get Active Wandsworth Festival, and is expected to attract several thousand people.  Get Active Day is free and suitable for the whole family.

Highlights include:

  • an outdoor stage provided by Radio Jackie
  • bouncy castles,
  • face painting,
  • a mobile climbing wall,
  • the Change 4 Life roadshow,
  • a mobile squash wall,
  • free bike maintenance,
  • nutrition advice,
  • a chance to win a bike up to the value of £500,
  • street dance,
  • circus skills performers,
  • food

Deputy Mayor Councillor Kim Caddy and Active Wandsworth chairman and former Olympian Chris Baillieu will officially launch the event at 12 noon.

The day will also include a chance to meet some of the young stars that helped Wandsworth capture the London Youth Games Jubilee trophy for the first time at Crystal Palace last weekend, and to meet the Active Wandsworth mascot PAWS.

The Get Active Festival aims to build a sustainable sport and health legacy for Wandsworth in response to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and get everyone in the borough moving regardless of age or ability.
