Last year's event

Meet dozens of companies from multiple sectors offering a wide range of job opportunities to suit all levels.

The free event, organised by Wandsworth Council’s Work Match team, is aimed at people who live in Wandsworth who want to work closer to home, are returning to work, who want to step up a level or who need help finding the right career.

Visitors will be able to find out about local job opportunities, talk face-to-face with potential employers and can get expert advice from Google Digital Garage on CV development, building a personal brand online and self-promotion skills. For those interested in starting up their own business, there will be business startup and enterprise support from Metro Bank.

There will also be a range of live, interactive skills demonstrations showcasing sector skills from industry experts. Exclusive to Employ Wandsworth 2019, learn about the skills needed to become a barista from South Thames College, creative floristry with Moyses Stevens, hair design from Paul Edmonds and construction skills with PHD Modular Access Services.

Last year around a thousand people turned up and this year’s event is expected to be even bigger, with 49 exhibiting businesses on the day.

Employment and skills spokesperson Councillor Rory O’Broin said: “Employ Wandsworth is the council’s flagship jobs and skills fair, and every year it gets better. There are so many employment opportunities opening up in Wandsworth, and we are determined to ensure our residents are first in line to take advantage of them.

“This is a great opportunity to come along, meet potential employers and pick the brains of experts – all for free.”
