Another chance to help shape early years support
Published: Thursday, April 18, 2019
Parents are getting another chance to help plan the Wandsworth children’s centre programme by attending one of a series of workshops in libraries and children’s centres all over the borough.
Go along to hear about feedback from previous consultations on the things children’s centre users think do and don’t work, and help turn this feedback into the new September 2019 programme.
There’s no need to book – just turn up – but you will need to attend the whole session. Carers and family members of young children are welcome, you can come along with a friend and you are also welcome if you are not yet a parent.
From September 2019 there will be a borough-wide service across all 12 designated children’s centres. This is part of the council’s new THRIVE Wandsworth Strategy and follows a detailed and in-depth public consultation held in the autumn.
The aim is to give young children and their parents and carers more choice in where, when and what services they can go to. The borough programme will bring together stay and play, early education, health visiting, speech and language therapy, child and adolescent mental health services for under-fives, groups for parents with low mood and post-natal depression and family support services. They’ll also be activities at weekends, during school holidays and more opportunities for young children with SEND.
