Foster Care Fortnight is an annual campaign created by the Fostering Network to showcase the commitment, passion, and dedication of foster carers.

#lovetofoster has been launched by the council’s own foster care service to raise awareness of the need for more for more foster carers in the borough so that children who are unable to live with their birth families to be cared for locally in their own communities.

Teenagers especially are at a crucial stage in life where a loving home can make a huge difference.

Cllr Will Sweet, cabinet member for education and children’s services, said: “We know that every child is unique and deserves the very best care.

“Fostering is incredibly rewarding for those who open their homes to a child and the council takes great pride in looking after our foster carers and their families every step of the way. You will receive training, generous fees and allowances and ongoing support.”
