The lido will reopen its doors to swimmers on Monday. March 29. People will need to pre-book their visit.

And it is important that visitors continue to observe social distancing rules – but as the lido is Europe’s second largest open-air freshwater swimming pool – measuring a colossal 91.5 metres in length – this should not be difficult.

It is vital however that visitors book their session in advance. Bookings can be made online via the lido website.

Labelled “a south London treasure” by the Daily Telegraph it is one of only a handful of surviving open air swimming pools in London.

It has previously been named by Time Out magazine as the best in place in the capital for 'uninterrupted swimming' and as the 'Best Outdoor Swim in London' in The London Pools Campaign's Golden Goggles Award.

The main pool at the lido is currently open from 7am until 2pm.
