COVID-19 Food and Essentials Fund
About the fund
Voluntary and community groups are invited to apply for a grant to help those in Wandsworth who are struggling to afford food and other essentials due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Applicants will be able to apply for grants between £500 and £10,000, from a total pot of £50,000
The fund is aimed at meeting immediate need, with funding to be spent in a timely manner.
Successful applicants will need to demonstrate that they have robust mechanisms in place to distribute assistance to Wandsworth residents through cash, food or vouchers and be able to demonstrate effective referral mechanisms and proven partnerships with the Council and other stakeholders, for example social work teams and homelessness support services, to help people access longer term support they might need such as benefits or debt advice.
In order to manage the risk of fraud, successful applicants will need to demonstrate that they have robust mechanisms to ensure individuals are in genuine need of assistance and that payments or vouchers are only spent on food or essential items.
Funding may also be used to support logistics including transport, equipment and other items which will build organisational capacity in delivering this support.
Organisations who have previously been funded through the Wandsworth Grant Fund and/or the COVID-19 Response Fund can apply for funding for additional activity.
Successful applicants will be expected to provide information on how the grant has been spent.
The closing date for applications is Monday 24 August at 5pm. Applications received after this time will be ineligible.
Applications must be made using the online form below.
